Police say a Marietta woman charged with vehicular homicide in a deadly Oct. 20 crash in Smyrna was on cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl when she allegedly caused the deadly wreck. Cobb County man sentenced to 11 years for concealing the death of his fiancée
COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Sentencing went forward Wednesday in the trial against Brooks Cleary, a man charged with concealing the death of his 21-year-old fiancé Hailey Johnson. Hailey died in December 2022, and a jury found Cleary guilty of all charges filed against him. The prosecution was seeking 25 years, but because of concerns with the main charge of concealment, Cleary was only sentenced to 11 years behind bars.
Acworth K-9 Officer Sniffs Out Suspect Christopher Hammit Facing Meth Trafficking Charges

Update: Police Give 'All Clear' After Suspicious Vehicle Reported at Dobbins
The Cobb County Police Department issued an "all clear" Wednesday afternoon after it investigated a suspicious vehicle at the Barclay Gate at Dobbins Air Reserve Base earlier in the day. Sgt. Eric Smith, Cobb Police spokesperson, said around 4:15 p.m. that personnel from the department, Dobbins and Cobb County Fire & Emergency Services checked the vehicle and cleared it. Previously, reports of a suspicious vehicle had police telling people to avoid the area. Smith said all county emergency personnel have left the area and returned to service, adding that there were no injuries reported related to the vehicle.

Two Cherokee Sheriff’s Office deputies recently graduated from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Pickens County, the sheriff’s office announced. CSO Deputies John Senay and Caitlen Troglin completed 408 hours of P.O.S.T. mandated police training over the past 11 weeks. The deputies were sworn in by Sheriff Frank Reynolds Friday.
