After identifying the trailer as stolen, Alameda police conducted a warrant and found the trailer to be unoccupied “but was believed to have been used by an individual with arrest warrants,” police said.

Crime scene technicians processed the trailer before returning it to its rightful owner. Police are also currently reaching out to all the victims “to ensure their property is returned,” Alameda police said.

Officials recommend reporting any incidents of identity theft to or calling 1-877-438-4338 and changing any passwords related to the suspected fraudulent account as soon as possible.
