Bus driver punched and stabbed in South L.A., suspect sought
Authorities circulated security images Wednesday of a man wanted in an attack that injured a bus driver in the south Los Angeles area. The crime occurred at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Korean man attacked in broad daylight in Koreatown parking lot, suspect arrested
A Korean (or Korean-American) man in his 50s was attacked and injured during the day in LA Koreatown. According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the incident took place around 1:30 p.m. on April 11 in a parking lot across from the Kang Nam Restaurant at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and South Bronson Avenue.

$30k reward offered for information on deadly shooting of South Gate grandfather
Los Angeles County officials have offered a reward in hopes of finding the person who fatally shot a 57-year-old grandfather in South Gate in late 2023. It happened back on Sept. 16, 2023, when 57-year-old Hector Ascencio Sr. opened the door of his home in the 2500 block of Glenwood Place. Seconds after doing s he was shot, with his 9-year-old granddaughter bearing witness to the tragic scene. "We're here today because we need to deliver that justice for the Ascencio family," said Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn at a news conference with his family members on Wednesday. "Most people will never know the pain and the shock that they are feeling. In what should have been his safest space, his own home, Hector Ascencio was savagely and senselessly murdered."The ongoing investigation has yet to net any arrests and officials are hoping that the reward will help bring someone with more information forward. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors authorized a $20,000 reward, half of which was matched by the city of South Gate, bringing the total to $30,000. Motorcyclist killed by hit-and-run driver in Lancaster
Investigators are searching for the hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a motorcyclist in Lancaster on Monday. It happened at around 9:40 p.m. non Avenue K, just east of 42nd Street West, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detectives. "Preliminary investigation indicates a male adult was ejected from his motorcycle for an unknown reason," LASD Detective Ryan Ament said. "The male was ejected into the eastbound lane of travel of Avenue K and was subsequently struck by an unknown white sedan."Instead of stopping to help, deputies believe the driver fled from the area. There was no information immediately available on the victim's identity, a possible suspect or the vehicle involved. Anyone who knows more is urged to contact investigators at (661) 948-8466.
