Man charged with stabbing fellow patron inside Aurora bar

AURORA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Montgomery man faces several felony charges after allegedly stabbing someone inside an Aurora bar earlier this weekend.

26-year-old Patrick Lerette has been charged with four different felonies, including attempted murder and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

According to police, Lerette stabbed a 34-year-old man inside the Aurora Tap House, located on Downer Place near Lake Street, at around 8 p.m. Friday.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with multiple stab wounds and remains hospitalized.

Police shortly thereafter located Lerette outside the bar and witnesses identified him as the suspect. He was taken into custody.

A knife was recovered at the scene, police said.

Lerette was scheduled to appear Sunday in Kane County Bond Court.
