WASHINGTON - Klaus the Parrot was reunited with his family June 9 after a month-and-a-half-long sabbatical. Klaus went missing from his owners’ home in Baltimore City in April, only to be discovered in Arlington, Virginia nearly two months later. The bird traveled over 40 miles during his 49-day disappearance.

HONfest participants push past controversy, excited for weekend
Preparations were underway Friday for this weekend's HONfest in Hampden, and participants are excited for the festivities. HONfest is known for crowds, good food, big hair, costumes and music on three stages. Signs lined the streets telling people there will be no parking on Saturday and Sunday on 36th Street, so parking may be hard to find.

A bear in my area? It's pawsible: experts share what to do
COLUMBIA, Md. — Bears have been spotted recently in suburbs of Baltimore, Frederick and Howard counties. Most recently, a bear was spotted at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia. A resident of Columbia's Owen Brown community shared a video with 11 News, saying a black bear was in her yard for 15 minutes on Monday, and neighbors saw it swim across the lake from the woods.

B&O Railroad Museum Plans $30 Million Renovation with New Pigtown-Facing Entrance
On Thursday, Baltimore and Ohio (B&O) Railroad Museum announced a $30-million renovation that will add new exhibits and a public plaza called the CSX Bicentennial Garden to the museum, as well as reorient the museum to front the Pigtown neighborhood. B&O has received a $5-million gift from CSX and a $3-million pledge from the State of Maryland for the project.
