THEY SAY THAT THAT IS BECAUSE THEY WERE IN THE VEHICLE WITH A WOMAN DRIVING WAS SHOT. -- WHERE THE WOMAN DRIVING WAS SHOT. A GUNMAN OPENED FIRE IN THE UPTON NEIGHBORHOOD ON SATURDAY. A WOMAN DRIVING WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR CAUGHT IN THE CROSSFIRE. POLICE SAY THE 23-YEAR-OLD WAS SHOT AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. SHE, ALONG WITH A THREE-YEAR-OLD, ARE IN STABLE CONDITION. WHILE A TWO-MONTH-OLD BABY BOY IS CRITICAL, BUT STABLE. TWO MEN ALSO SHOT WHILE STANDING OUTSIDE, A 65-YEAR-OLD LIVE, AND A 43-YEAR-OLD WAS KILLED. New details have emerged on Saturday’s mass shooting in west Baltimore as police have released an update on the children who were hurt.11 News has learned that doctors said the children were not shot but the baby and toddler do have head trauma and other injuries from the car accident that happened when the woman driving them was shot.A gunman opened fire in the west Baltimore Upton neighborhood Saturday. A woman driving with children in the car was caught in the crossfire. According to police, the 23-year-old was driving when she was shot and crashed into a pole. Officials report, she, along with a 3-year-old, is in stable condition, while a 2-month-old boy is in critical but stable condition. Two men were also shot while standing outside. A 65-year-old lived while a 43-year-old was killed. Police do not yet know the intended target or how many shooters there were."We're going to continue to apply pressure to the community, because there were dozens of people out there, and someone knows who did this, and someone has to step up," Mayor Brandon Scott (D) said.Four hours after the mass shooting, in north Baltimore, a 42-year-old man shot and killed north of Wilson park. On Sunday, family of Deonta Dorsey gathered at the Edmondson Village Shopping Center. The 16-year-old was murdered in a mass shooting there earlier this month."The reality is the tide of violence in Baltimore continues, and we don't want this case to get lost in that wave," Thiru Vignarajah, Attorney for the family of Dorsey, said.They are calling for an arrest in the teenager's murder as detectives try to identify the two people in surveillance photos related to the case. "We worry that given the 25 homicides that have happened, the multiple mass shootings, including one last night that have happened in Baltimore, it's easy to lose sight of one young Black man, one young Black boy- who was killed right here," Vignarajah said.
