4 killed in wrong-way crash on Southern California freeway
CHINO HILLS, Calif. (AP) — Four people were killed early Sunday in a wrong-way collision involving several vehicles on a freeway east of Los Angeles, authorities said. The crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. in southbound lanes of State Route 71 in Chino Hills after several people called 911 to report a car traveling the wrong direction, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least four vehicles were involved and at least one burst into flames, the Los Angeles Times reported. Four people died at the scene, and at least one other person was transported to a hospital, authorities said.

Grand Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Controlled Substance
On Thursday, March 16, 2023, the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a property related search warrant at the 26000 block of Bruce Street, in Highland. The search warrant stemmed from multiple grand theft incidents that were reported on March 01,2023. The incidents occurred at two businesses located at the 78000 and 79000 block of Highway 111, in La Quinta. The businesses had also reported similar thefts at their other locations out of the area. Arrested was Huy Nhat Pham, 32 of Highland, for grand theft, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia . Approximately $3,200 worth of stolen merchandise was recovered. Pham was booked at the John J. Benoit Detention Center.

A Highland man was arrested after he allegedly viciously attacked three members of his family, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. On March 15 at about 11:48 p.m., deputies from the Highland Sheriff's Station responded to the 29100 block of Rock Crest Court for an assault call. Upon arrival, deputies heard loud screaming coming from inside the residence. Deputies entered and found Christian Morris, 28, allegedly violently assaulting members of his family.
