Officials: Wildwood mayor pleads guilty in tax fraud case
Wildwood Mayor Peter Byron, 67, pleaded guilty in a tax fraud case and faces up to three years in prison. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Byron pleaded in Camden federal court to information charging him with two counts of willfully aiding and assisting in the preparation and presentation of fraudulent tax returns to the IRS in 2017 and 2018, according to U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger.

Man given 10-year sentence in crash that killed Lewes woman
A Frederica man was sentenced to 10 years in prison March 16 for causing a head-on collision near Bowers Beach that killed a Lewes woman and seriously injured her husband. Dillion Satterfield, 27, was driving under the influence in May 2022 and speeding westbound along Bowers Beach Road when he passed a line of vehicles and struck an oncoming vehicle in the eastbound lane, officials said. A Lewes couple, Daniel O’Brien, 69, and his wife Ileana O’Brien, 68, were in the car that was struck in a no-passing zone, officials said. Daniel suffered serious injuries from the crash, and Ileana was killed.

It was quite a weekend for a group of basketball players from Bloomfield. Traveling to Wildwood, NJ, last weekend, three teams competed in the Special Olympics, with outstanding results. Two of the teams won gold medals while a third captured a bronze medal. A group of committed coaches and players helped lead the way to victory. Sea Isle City officials proposing curfew ordinance for teens during tourism season
SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. (CBS) – Down the shore in Sea Isle City, officials are looking to impose a curfew for teens this summer. The city is proposing an ordinance that would prevent anyone under the age of 18 from being out in public between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.City officials say the goal is to prevent teenagers from being a disruption during the upcoming summer tourism season.A public hearing and final vote on the ordinance are scheduled for Tuesday.If passed, the ordinance would go into effect from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Lewes in Bloom will be selling tulips from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or until sold out, Thursday and Friday, April 7 and 8, on the corner of Second and Bank streets in downtown Lewes. In addition to enjoying the Lewes Tulip Celebration activities around town, community members can bring home some plants for their own gardens.
