CHICO, Calif. - The City of Chico announced that the Bruce Road Reconstruction Project was awarded to local contractor Knife River Construction. The project will be about two miles from Highway 32 to Skyway in southwest Chico, the city said. The project will also revitalize Bruce Road, as it will go from a two-lane road to a four-lane road.

2 people safely escape house fire in Thermalito
THERMALITO, Calif. - Two people were able to safely evacuate a house fire in Thermalito. CAL FIRE said the fire broke out in the 1700 block of 16 Street and was 50 percent involved when they arrived around 11 p.m. The two adults are now receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
