CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Chippewa County jury convicted a Bloomer man of his fifth drunk-driving offense Tuesday night, stemming from a Jan. 1, 2022, arrest. The jury deliberated less than two hours before convicting David J. Scott, 38, of OWI-5, battery to law enforcement and resisting an officer. Krystle’s dedication and kindness is shaping the hearts and minds of each child she is in contact with daily. Growing up in West Allis, Wisconsin, Krystle then attended the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for undergraduate studies and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology. From there she went on to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and earned a master’s degree in education and a specialist degree in school psychology. In addition, she has also received licensure for Director of Special Education and Pupil Services from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Krystle’s education gave her the skill and knowledge necessary to lead her students, but her passion is what touches their hearts. “As a school psychologist, I get to support students in their learning and development,” she explains.

CHIPPEWA FALLS — An Eau Claire man charged in February with drunk driving and fleeing officers failed to show up for court Tuesday, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Chad Nylen, 44, 4900 Olson Dr., was charged in Chippewa County Court with OWI-3rd offense, fleeing or eluding an officer, resisting or obstructing an officer and bail jumping, stemming from a Feb. 17 traffic stop in Lake Hallie. CF woman charged with delivery of fentanyl
CHIPPEWA FALLS — A Chippewa Falls woman has been charged with delivering fentanyl. Kimberley R. Wright, 52, 557 E. Park Ave., was charged with one count in Chippewa County Court. A warrant has been issued for Wright's arrest; no court dates have been set at this time. According to the criminal complaint, a law enforcement officer worked with a confidential informant, who purchased fentanyl from Wright on Aug. 4, 2023. The controlled purchase took place in Chippewa County and was recorded on video. The video showed the informant purchase a baggie containing 1.2 grams of fentanyl for $180 from Wright. The substance later tested positive for fentanyl. That amount of fentanyl is a felony-level offense. Online court records show Wright was convicted of possessing an illegally obtained prescription in Chippewa County Court in 2020.
Chippewa Falls voters will see school referendum on ballot
CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Voters in the Chippewa Falls School District will go to the polls next Tuesday (4/2/24) to decide on a multi-million-dollar referendum. It is projected that taxpayers would pay an additional five cents per one thousand dollars of assessed property value per year or $5 for $100 thousand of property.
