Upstate man sentenced to a decade in prison for crime spree
An Upstate man is set to spend the next decade behind bars after a multi-county crime spree. 30 year old Nicholas Eugene Gulledge of Clinton, pleaded guilty at the Laurens County Courthouse late last week.

Presbyterian College recently celebrated a lasting legacy of love and loyalty at the dedication of the Butch and Brenda Woodward Lobby in the Smith Administration Building. The late Butch Woodward, who passed away last July at the age of 86, served his beloved alma mater as director of alumni relations after a long and successful career as a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch. He was later a member of the college Board of Trustees and the 2003 Mary F. Lehman Alumni Service Award recipient.

Game 3 Vs. Presbyterian Canceled Due To Weather
CLINTON, S.C. - Due to inclement weather, the third game of Longwood's Big South conference opening weekend has been canceled. The Lancers picked up two huge opening weekend wins over the Blue Hose on Saturday by scores of 2-1 and 4-0, but won't be able to finish out the series. The game has been canceled with no plans of rescheduling due to the league's policy that a third game does not need to be played if two full games have already been completed.
New ideas are springing to life in Newberry
Just as the blooming dogwoods and azaleas around Newberry show new life and that spring is here, new ideas are springing to life around Newberry. Mij Bolyard and her son, Miah Miller, have opened Lady of the Lake, at 1406 Main Street, and it looks great. They sell home décor, gifts, and handcrafted items, and Miah does custom laser engraving on glass, metal, wood, leather and stone under the name “Pines to Palmettos.” They have other plans, including adding pottery and are looking for local artists who want to showcase their work. It’s a fun store. As part of their renovation of the building, they discovered a large advertising mural from the early 1900’s. The family welcomes you to see their new store.
LCSO investigation leads to two arrests on multiple charges
After a thorough investigation, two people have been arrested by the Laurens County Sheriff's Office on a multitude of charges stemming from an incident in early March. On March 4, deputies were dispatched to the area of Cooks Bridge Road and Scuffletown Road in reference to shots fired and later, a single vehicle collision. The vehicle involved in the collision had been reported stolen and was the same vehicle reported in the initial shots-fired complaint. The subject fired multiple shots at the victim and his vehicle.

The Laurens Tractor Supply store is supporting Big Blue Marble in developing a school garden that will provide students with an enriched, hands-on learning experience.
