Not everyone got the memo. WJOL has observed shoppers still going into the Walgreens at Route 30 and Caton Farm Road in Crest Hill only to be disapointed. The drug store closed its doors permanently on April 10th. Workers were seen taking down the signs. It was first reported in February.

City of Lockport Announces the Commencement of the Illinois Route 7 Channelization Project
The City of Lockport announces the start of the Illinois Route 7 Channelization Project with roadwork beginning mid-April 2024. This transformative initiative adds a center bi-directional turn lane to enhance traffic flow, bolster safety, and optimize corridor connectivity along Route 7 (9th Street), spanning from Lincoln Street to Summit Drive. During construction, all traffic lanes and business entrances will remain open with temporary detours and closures as needed. Drivers should expect delays as construction is projected to continue through the summer of 2025.
One Juvenile Hospitalized Following Joliet House Fire, Six Treated for Smoke Inhalation at the Scene
At 4:50 p.m. on April 16th, Joliet Fire Department responded to 427 Liberty St. for reports of a structure fire. The first units arrived within 4 minutes of the call and were met with heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of a 2-story single family dwelling. Multiple hose lines were used to extinguish fire.
