Aliquippa sues PIAA to prevent football team’s promotion to Class 5A
The school with the most wins in WPIAL football history is hoping its next big victory comes in a courtroom. Aliquippa has filed a lawsuit seeking to block the PIAA from moving its football team to a higher classification where opponents would have much larger enrollments. The lawsuit, which is the latest step in a contentious fight over the PIAA competitive-balance rule, was filed Thursday in Beaver County Common Pleas Court by attorney Tina Miller, who represents the school.

EPA approves plan to tackle oily sheen left over from train derailment
EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (WKBN) — There’s now a plan in place to complete the last major phase of the clean up of the East Palestine train derailment. The U.S. EPA has approved a plan devised by Norfolk Southern that would work toward eliminating the patches of oily sheen still visible in Sulfur and Leslie runs, the two streams affected by the train derailment.
