Officers say investigations in Harlan Co. lead to drug trafficking arrest, more pending
LYNCH, Ky. (WYMT) - Multiple agencies worked together in Harlan County on a combined drug trafficking investigation. On Tuesday, officers from the Lynch Police Department, deputies from the Harlan County Sheriff’s Office and troopers from Kentucky State Police served two people with parole violation warrants on Gilbert Drive in Lynch.

Man dies after he was attacked by swarm of bees outside of his house
DIZNEY, Ky. — A man in Dizney, Kentucky, died after he was stung repeatedly by bees at his house Monday, officials say. The Harlan County Coroner’s Office said they were notified that a 59-year-old man was heading to the emergency room. Deputy Coroner John W. Jones responded and pronounced the man dead just before 6 p.m.

Twenty veterans from the Appalachian Highlands' Tri-Cities area have embarked on an all-inclusive Honor Flight to Washington D.C. This program allows these veterans to visit numerous memorials in the nation's capital to honor their service and commemorate their fallen comrades. Their trip begins at Crossroads Global Methodist Church in Kingsport. The Honor Flight takes them to significant Vietnam and Korean War memorials in D.C., as well as a tour of the D-Day museum in Bedford, VA.
