Pursuit in Rabun County leads to Arrest
An Otto, North Carolina man stands charged with fleeing or attempting to elude officers, driving without a valid license, failure to maintain insurance, and failure to meet registration and license requirements. The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that on March 24, 2024, a deputy patrolling Highway 246 near Kelly’s Creek Road observed a motorcycle with no tag displayed. A pursuit was initiated and the motorcycle fled into some woods off Evergreen Road. The motorcyclist was caught walking out of the woods off Sterling Cove Road. The deputy arrested 34-year-old Garrett Daniel Jones and transported him to the Rabun County Detention Center for booking on the charges.

Duotech expanding in Macon County with 95 new jobs expected
One of Macon County’s longtime industry leaders has announced it will be expanding. Duotech Services, LLC, an engineering company that specializes in the repair and maintenance of legacy defense equipment, has been operating in Franklin since 1986.
