Driver injured in rollover crash near Castle Hayne
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – Crews responded to a rollover crash on I-140 near Castle Hayne Thursday morning, March 28, according to New Hanover County Fire Rescue. “Rescue 11 and Engine 17 reported to a traffic incident this morning where they had to perform a vehicle extrication on I-140 outside of Castle Hayne,” an announcement from NHC Fire Rescue states.
One Leland man dead, one in custody following Tuesday night vehicle incident
A Leland man is facing a first-degree murder charge after law enforcement says he struck a 43-year-old man with a vehicle. According to the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived on the scene at Old Fayetteville and Lanvale roads in Leland on Tuesday evening. There, they found Travis Bryan Stanley, of Leland, deceased. Detectives said he had been struck by a vehicle.

BURGAW, N.C. (WECT) – A woman has been arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within the town limits of Burgaw at 500 West Hayes Street on Tuesday evening. According to Burgaw police, a fight occurred at around 6:20 p.m. and a family member of one of the people involved in the fight fired a gun in the air to ‘break up the fight.’ An officer with the department was reportedly in Pender Memorial Park when the shot went off and he called for backup.
