Stabbing reported late Sunday in Jonesboro
JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman was arrested Sunday night in Jonesboro for allegedly stabbing a roommate after he reportedly punched her in the face. The incident report with JPD says it happened at about 10:08 PM on March 26 at the 2600-block of N. Church Street. Officers were dispatched to a call of a male having been stabbed and the suspect still on scene. Police arrived and spoke with witnesses as well as the involved parties.
Suspect arrested in car-into-apartment crash during chase
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) -A Memphis man has been arrested following a chase that led to him crashing into a local apartment building. According to the Jonesboro Police Department, Brian Ellis, 41, of Memphis, is facing charges of fleeing, leaving the scene of an accident, obstructing governmental operations, and criminal mischief after leading police on a high-speed chase through the city and eventually crashing into the Home Sweet Home Apartment building in the 200 block of Geet Street.

Shots heard call investigated Saturday in Jonesboro
JONESBORO, Ark. – Police found evidence of at least one shooting incident over the weekend in Jonesboro. Around 12:14 AM Saturday near the 3600-block of Vickie Drive, Jonesboro officers were dispatched to a shots heard call. Officers arrived and began investigating, finding shell casings in the road in the front of the address. Five silver Winchester 9mm shell casings and one live Winchester 9mm round were found.

The search for a Poinsett County man who was reportedly swept off a low-water bridge near Rosie has been called off due to Friday’s poor weather conditions. Independence County Sheriff Shawn Stephens says the weather is affecting the search efforts, but he told White River Now’s Gary Bridgman Friday morning that crews will resume the search as soon as the weather breaks.
