The community Hills wants elementary school building back once it closes
HILLS, Iowa (KCRG) - A day after the Iowa City School Board voted to close Hills Elementary School, community members say they want the building and the land back. The school board unanimously voted to close the school at the end of this school year to help cover a $7 million districtwide shortfall. Closing Hills would save about $1.6 million.
