Two arrested in alleged merchandise scam at multiple Massachusetts Walmart stores
“A local police department has arrested two men in connection with an alleged merchandise scam at area Walmart stores. According to Chief James Donovan, on Monday, just before 1:15 p.m., a Raynham Police Officer responded to Walmart, 160 Broadway, for a report of past incidents of theft or attempted theft at the store. Through an on-scene investigation, officers determined that the suspects activated a Visa gift card without paying and subsequently left the store. Officers also learned that the males returned to the store March 19 and returned merchandise worth more than $1,300.

BRAINTREE − A celebration of Greek Independence Day is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, March 25, at town hall, 1 John F. Kennedy Memorial Drive. The celebration will start in front of the building with flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies. It will then move inside town hall, where Greek dancing will be featured. Greek Independence Day marks the start of the Greek War of Independence in 1821, when Greece was part of the Ottoman Empire. The war ended in 1829, when Greece gained independence in the Treaty of Erirne. Mayor Charles Kokoros is of Greek heritage. His father is from a village in Sparta. Fishermen, neighbors fight plan to dump radioactive water in Cape Cod Bay
PLYMOUTH - Neighbors along Cape Cod Bay are pushing back against the dumping of radioactive water into the bay. A permit from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) stands in the way of it happening. The Pilgrim nuclear power plant shut down in 2019. Holtec is the company working to decommission the plant. The rotary on the Cape Cod side of the Bourne Bridge will be eliminated when the bridge is replaced, according to plans unveiled last night. At a meeting of the Bourne Select Board, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation presented possible locations for the road connections to the new Bourne and Sagamore bridges.
