Florence Man Arrested For Attempted Murder
On May 30, 2023 at approximately 1:00 AM deputies with the Florence County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a shooting with victims at 2525 Whippoorwill Road, Effingham, SC. Investigators arrested Miken Roshell Johnson and charged him with three counts of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. According to Investigators, following a verbal confrontation in the front yard which became physical, Johnson is alleged to have retreated inside the residence where he retrieved a firearm and shot multiple times into an occupied vehicle resulting in injuries to three of the occupants. The victims were transported to an area hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening gunshot wounds.
