Causes of inn explosion, fire at popular restaurant in Lancaster County revealed
BIRD IN HAND, Pa. — We now know the cause of a fire that damaged the Bird-in-Hand Family Restaurant and Smorgasbord in Lancaster County last month. President and CEO John E. Smucker II said investigators determined the Jan. 30 fire broke out when an exhaust fan in the kitchen malfunctioned and overheated.

Zoltan died with his handler Officer Jay Hatfield and other family members at his side, police said in a news release Sunday. A police escort took Zoltan from his home to Pet Emergency Treatment and Specialties, where police cruisers and other officers were waiting. (Lancaster, PA) -- Lancaster city workers have installed a six-foot, black chain link fence so the public can't get to a stream at Conestoga Pines Park. That action comes after Lancaster city tests revealed water contamination. Officials say the safety fencing effort to address a history of water contamination dates back more than 30 years.
