Jeffrey Ward Blake
Jeffrey Ward Blake passed away on March 4, 2024, after a long illness. Jeff was born Aug. 20, 1962, in Cedar City, Utah, to Herbert Marvin Blake and Dixie DyAnn Hood Blake. Jeff spent his formative years in Beaver, Utah, helping Grandma Linnea Hood at the Hood Motel. His favorite time was spent learning to hunt, fish, and winter camp from his grandfather, Ward Hood, and family friend, Beaver County Sheriff Dale Nelson. Both were father figures to Jeff, who lost his dad at a very young age.

Tuba City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 11-5 walloping at the hands of the Page Sand Devils. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Tuba City of the 12-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on March 13th.
SRP turns NGS keys over to Navajo Nation
It was a quiet ceremony, not a lot of fanfare, not like Navajo Nation President Dr. Buu Nygren’s March 7 visit to ZenniHome at the former Navajo Generating Station (NGS) site. Page Mayor Bill Diak was one of a handful of people invited. “There's going to be a more formal process going on in a few weeks, I believe,” Diak informed the Lake Powell Chronicle.
Pool and splash pad moved to top of city to-do list
Building a splash pad and swimming pool in Page is high on the priority list for council members and city administrators. At the March 13 Page City Council meeting, Councilor Brian Carey said, “One of our high priorities in our quality of life section of our strategic priorities is our rec center pool. I know we've had lots of approaches to that and in my interest at completing my Council term with bunches of accomplishments, I want to try to bring this one to a closure here over the next few months.”
