Lincoln County schools win events in big track meet
Newport’s Layla Newell won the 300-meter hurdles in the huge Jim Barks Grizzly Bear Open at McMinnville, the season-opening meet for the Cubs, Taft and Waldport. Gwynn Postlewait had an impressive performance at the 2024 Northwest Region Age Group Championships, representing both the Newport Swim Team and the city of Newport with distinction. Qualifying in four events and achieving three new personal bests is a significant achievement, especially considering the level of competition at this event.
