Lockhart welcomes Sip & Stroll April 6
Lockhart’s annual Sip & Stroll will take place around downtown Lockhart on Saturday, April 6, from 2-6 p.m. Guests can walk around downtown carrying their signature Sip & Stroll souvenir glass and tote bag while tasting an assortment of wines and ciders from around the globe at different participating businesses. Tote bags can be picked up when tickets are purchased on the day of the event. They will be at the LDBA Check-In Booth beginning at 11:30 a.m. on the northwest corner of the courthouse lawn.

LISD breaks ground on elementary school No. 6
The official groundbreaking for Lockhart’s sixth elementary school at 3200 Borchert Loop was held last week. In November 2022, voters passed the school bond phase 1, which made it possible to construct the new elementary (and a new wing at the high school). Bond phase 2, including a new junior high, will come no later than 2025.
Fur Ball raises needed funds for local pets
The second annual Fur Ball netted $42,000 for the Lockhart Animal Shelter, $15,000 more than what was raised at last year’s event. The second event took place Saturday evening at Zedler Mill in Luling, and while dogs were not paraded down a runway this year, several were on hand for guests to visit for about 45 minutes prior to the dinner.

San Marcos Adds Electric Ford Trucks, Toyota Cars to City Fleet in Sustainability Push
The City of San Marcos, Texas, is stepping up its game in environmental responsibility with the addition of five new all-electric vehicles to its city fleet. The eco-friendly move consists of three Ford F-150 Lightning trucks and two Toyota bZ4X cars, slated for use in various City operations including, Code Enforcement and Transit services as well as Public Works Fleet services, officials announced.
