Hot Springs had to endure a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Lordsburg Mavericks on Tuesday as the Hot Springs Tigers made off with a 13-3 victory. The win was just what Hot Springs needed coming off of an 11-0 loss in their prior match.
Lordsburg honors mining history at park
LORDSBURG — A bronze statue of a miner was recently placed in Lordsburg’s Memorial Park on Main Street by the city of Lordsburg. Mayor Glenda Greene said she believes that it is a long overdue memorial to the many Lordsburg men and women who worked in the copper mines, and to those who lost their lives in tragic mining accidents over the years.
