Vermilya wins Player of the Year, Mullet and Geiser named first-team All-Ohio
The Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association released its All-Ohio girls basketball teams Monday and Tuesday, with plenty of representation from the Wayne/Holmes area. Loudonville's Corri Vermilya headlined the area's All-Ohio group, earning Division IV Player of the Year honors. Vermilya, the runner-up for Ms. Basketball, led Loudonville to its second regional title in school history, re-writing the school record book along the way. She finished the year with averages of 26.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 6.4 steals and 3.9 assists.
Former church camp site will see some logging
One of the Holmes County buyers of a 467-acre Hocking County site that for decades was home to a church summer camp has confirmed that future plans for the site include some logging. “Basically I’m an investor,” Alan L.
