On Friday, April 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., volunteers will be at the Fort Bragg Food Bank (910 N. Franklin St.), providing free flea/tick repellent for the dogs of low-income folks. Information about vet care assistance, free puppy shots, and spay/neuter services will be available, as well as free glucosamine tablets, leashes, collars, beds, jackets, and coupons for free nail clippings. Noyo Food Forest’s 15th annual Earth Day Festival announced
Noyo Food Forest’s 15th Annual Earth Day Festival will be held Saturday, April 20, from 12-4:00 p.m. at The Learning Garden on the Fort Bragg High School campus at 300 Dana Street. This year’s festival will include live entertainment with Circus Mecca, Gwyneth Moreland, Morgan Daniel (of Foxglove), and 2nd Hand Grass featuring Gene Parsons. There will be a plant sale, hands-on environmental activities, earth-friendly artisan crafts, local nonprofit booths, delicious food, an upcycled T-shirt press, and bicycle-powered smoothies. The event will focus on regenerative gardening and community farming.

Kelley House Calendar: A sweet little bungalow
These two photographs, taken almost a century apart, look northeast from just west of the intersection of Little Lake and William Streets in Mendocino. The left sides of both photos show the front and west sides of the Gordon-Mendosa House, located at 45300 Little Lake Street. Later, we will discuss the buildings on the right sides of both photos. The lot was vacant in August 1911 when Cathrin Denslow Morgan sold it to Henry and Henrietta “Etta” Gordon.
