The warmup begins and sunshine returns
A few lake effect snow showers are still making their way through Michiana this morning, but most of today should be drier and warmer. Clouds will last through the early morning, but plenty of sunshine returns later this morning. Temperatures are starting chilly in the 20s with wind chills around 10. Heading into the afternoon, sunshine will help us warm up into the upper 30's. The warmup continues over the next couple days with upper 40's tomorrow and mid 50's by Tuesday. Following today's sunshine, we should stay mainly dry for the first half of the week, but showers return Tuesday night with rain chances in the forecast through the end of the week. We're tracking rain with the potential for scattered thunderstorms Thursday, especially in the morning. The second half of the work week looks to be wet and warm with temperatures at and above normal.

What a chilly start to the weekend! Michiana will be cold and snowy tonight with residual lake effect snow showers lasting into early Sunday morning. Clouds will replace the snow by late morning and will eventually give way to almost completely sunny skies by Sunday afternoon! Temperatures will approach 40 on Sunday as skies clear and the warming does not stop there. Monday will see the return of some clouds but the weather will be quiet. A slight chance for an isolated rain shower closer to Lake Michigan is possible late Monday afternoon. Tuesday will continue the warming trend as we breach the 50 threshold and head towards the mid-50s. With the warmup comes more clouds into the region and partly cloudy skies.
