Rocket Football Preview: Week 3
It’s week three of the 2023-2024 high school football season, and with their first 0-2 start since 2011, the Rockets will need a monumental effort to get back on track. Week one saw a disappointing loss to Melrose. After coming back from a 14-0 deficit, the Rockets found themselves down 21-14 in the game’s waning moments. On the final play, quarterback Jack Murphy (’25) heaved a 41 yard prayer to sophomore receiver, Brady Comenos. Miraculously, the ball found him in the back corner of the endzone. The excitement was short lived, however, as Reading failed to convert the two point conversion. On a positive note, Comenos performed spectacularly in his varsity debut, putting up 106 yards and a touchdown on 4 receptions.
