Arrest warrant issued for owner of Minocqua Brewing Co.
RHINELANDER, Wis. (WSAW) - NewsChannel 7 has just learned an arrest warrant has been authorized for the owner of the Minocqua Brewing Company, Kirk Bangstad. Bangstad didn’t show up for a court appearance in Oneida County Court last week as part of his defamation lawsuit with the Lakeland Times. In that case, he was found guilty last fall and ordered to pay the newspaper publisher over $750,000 in damages for calling journalist Gregg Walker names on social media and saying he failed to come to the aid of his dying brother 36 years ago, among other claims.

DNR could resume walleye harvest on Minocqua Chain of lakes this year
MINOCQUA, Wis. (WJFW)- Anglers this season might see some changes regarding walleye harvest on the Minocqua chain of lakes. The Lac Du Flambeau Tribe declared its intent to harvest during spear fishing season this spring. If this harvest is to occur the DNR wants to open the chain to public harvest a year earlier then they anticipated. The Minocqua chain zero bag limit for walleye was lengthened from 2021 to 2025.

Trees for Tomorrow hosts KinderWild camp for preschoolers
EAGLE RIVER, WIS (WJFW)- Environmental education center Trees for Tomorrow in Eagle River started their KinderWild program in 2020. Children between the ages of three and five attend the Friday day camp to learn about science and nature. KinderWild educators like Jenny Sadak hope that introducing children to these topics translates to an appreciation of the world around them, and a desire to be good stewards of the environment.

RHINELANDER, Wis. (WJFW) - Last summer, residents could no longer walk into Blaine’s Farm and Fleet and buy over-the-counter medication for large animals and pets. However, with their new program, it is possible to get what you need.
