Manes Funeral Home celebrates 50 years
NEWPORT — Manes Funeral Home is celebrating 50 years of serving the community. Chris Austin explained that he was only 20 years old when he entered a partnership with Charlie Manes and Dr. David McConnell in August 1973 to open the funeral home. A man is accused of opening fire with a 12-gauge shotgun when two people came to remove items from a building.
