(Moorhead, MN) -- Two men are under arrest for running from a traffic stop in Moorhead early Tuesday morning.

The Moorhead Police Department tells WDAY Radio that just after midnight officers attempted the traffic stop in the 1800 block of 12th avenue south. That's when the the driver and his passenger fled.

Eventually, after initially dropping the chase due to high rates of speed, the suspects were found near Village Green Boulevard and 20th street south. That's when officers used stop-sticks to disable the car in the 2900 block of 16th street south.

The passenger, 44-year-old Shawn Mosca of Detroit Lakes, was caught immediately. The driver, 28-year-old Jovan Gagnon of Mahnomen, was found shortly after hiding under a parked car in a parking lot nearby.

Both face fleeing charges, with Mosca also arrested for several outstanding warrants. They are being held in the Clay County Jail.
