Eyes On Tuesday’s Storm
Here’s a look at your forecast for Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Benito, and southern Santa Clara Counties!. We’ve switched to cooler northwest flow which will last through Monday. A strong storm system will then arrive on Tuesday with gusty winds and heavy rain. At this time, major flooding is not forecast, but minor issues are likely. There is an outside chance of a potentially damaging wind event which may cause widespread power outages, blocked roads, and property damage. Conditions will level off on Wednesday with a few lingering showers and gusts before more tranquil weather for the rest of the week. Temperatures will be chilly, however. One weather system will pass by late in the week, but rain chances are up in the air.

Details Emerge in Fatal Accident Where Fremont Woman Was Forced Onto I-880 Shoulder by Assailant And Hit by Car
The identity of a young woman who was hit and killed by a car in January after she was allegedly forced onto an I-880 center divider by an armed attacker has been released. The 20-year-old woman was Fremont resident Diamond Ki’ilani Kamehaiku-Sysco, Mercury News reported. Her online obituary said she worked at an Amazon Fulfillment Center in Newark, actively volunteered at a local church, and described her as someone who saw the good in others.
Will San Jose greenlight new affordable housing policy?
An affordable housing proposal that would enable community groups to buy multi-family homes could finally make it back to the San Jose City Council next month. The Community Opportunity to Purchase Act, or COPA, would give qualified nonprofits the ability to make the first offer on multi-family residential properties in San Jose. These nonprofits would then be able to rent at affordable rates to help renters keep their homes.

Oakland man arrested for catalytic converter theft, assault in Redwood City
REDWOOD CITY -- Police have arrested a man suspected of stealing a catalytic converter in unincorporated Redwood City Thursday then robbing at gunpoint an observer who recorded the theft on his cellphone, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said Saturday.Cristofer Hernandez, 25, of Oakland, was booked into the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Jail on suspicion of robbery, assault with a firearm, theft and tampering with a vehicle, according to police. Hernandez is being held on $100,000 bail, the sheriff's office said.The case began Thursday when a suspect stole a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the Emerald Hills neighborhood of unincorporated Redwood City, according to the sheriff's office. A resident who saw what was happening had recorded the theft on his phone, police said.When the suspect realized that he had been recorded, he pointed an automatic handgun at the resident and stole the phone, according to the sheriff's office.The sheriff's office launched an investigation, releasing a detailed description of the suspect's blue Honda Accord and asking the public for assistance.Sheriff's deputies and detectives pursued leads in the case and located the car in Oakland and were able to find the suspect and apprehend him, according to the sheriff's office.
