Peter Price co-founded the popular bar and music venue with John Larsen in the early 1970s.

The founder and particle namesake of one of the most well-known bars in Bucks County is being remembered for his contributions to local culture.

John and Peter’s, a popular bar and music venue located at 96 South Main Street in New Hope, recently announced the passing of co-founder Peter Price. Starting the colorful venue in the early 1970s with John Larsen, the bar has become known for showcasing many bands over the past five decades, many of whom went on to fame and acclaim.

“Throughout every one of those years, he loved, supported and personified all that we hold dear,” the bar said online. “We will miss him and cherish his memory forever.”

There are currently no set plans for a memorial, as the staff of the bar are taking time to mourn the loss of their founder and friend.

The brightly-colored bar has been a staple of New Hope culture for decades. Changing hands in the last couple years, Price had been able to sit back and enjoy the rocking venue he built up.
