2 men face multiple charges after drug bust led by State Police
QUINCY - Two men are facing multiple charges after State Police and the United States Postal Inspectors seized a package of cocaine mailed from Puerto Rico to the ringleader of a suspected drug organization in Quincy.State Police said they found the cocaine after it was delivered to Stephen Marsden on Friday morning. He was arrested when police searched his apartment, they said they found five guns, dozens of edibles, about 80 Xanax pills, a money counting device and materials used to package narcotics.They also obtained a warrant to search the Worcester apartment of Evans Klimavich, Marsden's co-conspirator. State Police said the search at Klimavich's apartment yielded a kilogram of cocaine, about 50 pounds of marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, hundreds of vape cartridges and $52,000 in cash. Klimavich was arrested when he arrived home.State Police also searched an office space Marsden was renting in Fall River and said they found four ghost guns, several pounds of edibles and an ATM machine.Both men face drug trafficking charges and Marsden faces additional charges for not having a license to carry firearms.

A United States soldier from New England who was captured and died as a prisoner of war has come home after 80 years. U.S. Army Pfc. Arthur L. Pierce, 26, of Malden, Massachusetts was captured and died as a prisoner of war during World War II. In 1941 he was a member of the 803rd Engineer Battalion in the Philippines when Japanese forces invaded the Philippine Islands.

BOSTON, MA – On Thursday, at approximately 5:45 PM, officers from District B-3 responded to a call concerning an armed individual at 25 Estrella Street. A 21-year-old Mattapan resident, Javaughnee Buckmire, was arrested after a FN503 with five rounds in the magazine was recovered from behind a recycling bin near his location. Buckmire was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and armed robbery. He is set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court. Memorial Day parade returns to Somerville after 6-year hiatus
SOMERVILLE - After a six year hiatus, the Memorial Day parade in Somerville took place Sunday under a clear blue sky and lots of patriotism.Beginning at Davis Square, families, veterans and residents watched as the parade got underway, honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. "It means commemorating those people who fought for our country," said Somerville Mayor Katjana Ballantyne. "We need to honor them. They are not faceless, or nameless or just a statistic."The grand marshal was 73-year-old Tom White, who fought in the Vietnam War. He said he feels humbled to be the grand marshal."There were 13 people in the Vietnam War I personally knew, including my commanding general, who died on July 7, 1970, and unbeknownst to me, signed my bronze star three weeks before he died," White said.The parade route was just over a mile to the Veterans Cemetery on Broadway, where a small ceremony was held."We lost a lot of soldiers, sailors, Marines, whatever. I'm retired military myself so I take this special. And it's nice to see the people still come out for it," veteran Joe Hodorawis said.
