How Colorado homeowners still reeling from the COVID pandemic can apply for financial assistance
The clock is running out on millions in federal COVID mortgage assistance and 15 area governments and nonprofits are trying to get the money out the door. Colorado received about $175 million from the American Rescue Plan Act to fund mortgage assistance in 2021. By the end of January, however, about $121 million remained unspent, so the Department of Local Affairs expanded its pilot program for distributing the money before a December 2024 deadline.

AURORA | An unidentified man was shot in the back and injured Saturday night as he and another man were walking near Colfax in Aurora, police said. Police said the unidentified man and another were walking some where near East Colfax Avenue and Billings Street in east central Aurora when “they heard a single gunshot,” police reported on Twitter at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
Englewood police shoot and kill man near Oxford and Broadway
Englewood police said it's investigating a police shooting in the area of West Oxford Avenue and South Broadway. According to police, officers chased a man with a gun before one officer shot and killed the man.Few details were immediately available, but police said West Oxford Avenue is closed between Broadway and Lincoln Streets and likely will be for some time.Around 12:30 p.m., Englewood officers responded to a call regarding a man menacing with a gun, according to Englewood Police Spokesman Scot Allen. Officers chased him and one officer fired his gun at the man, hitting him. The Aurora Police Department will offer free rides home from the Stanley Marketplace to those 21 years and older who feel too impaired to drive Saturday night. 2 in Colorado arrested after 'booby trap' at their house injures 1
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (TCD) -- A man and a woman from Highlands Ranch were arrested when an apparent "booby trap" they set at their home injured one person. On March 9 at 2 p.m., the victim was reportedly "conducting business" on Ashburn Court and went to the front door of one of the homes. When he got to the door, he allegedly "heard and felt a large 'boom,'" and saw a wire tied around his leg. The man also reportedly felt ear pain and noticed his vision was altered.
