City of Peoria Seeks Certified Lifeguards for Summer Swim Season, Emphasizes Need for StarGuard Training
The City of Peoria is putting out the call for those civic-minded individuals with a knack for swimming and a desire to keep their neighbors safe this summer. In their latest drive, the city announced they are in need of lifeguards to oversee the summer swim season at local pools. As per the details released, candidates are required to come certified with either StarGuard or American Red Cross Lifeguard Training/First Aid, as well as CPR/AED, in order to step into the water for the required Water Test/Interview.
Peoria Chiefs playing to strike out hunger this season
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — The Peoria Chiefs are partnering with PNC Bank and Midwest Food Bank to fight hunger in Central Illinois. According to Midwest Food Bank spokeswoman Malanie Tennell, PNC Bank will donate $10 to Midwest Food Bank every time the Peoria Chiefs strike out a batter during their home games this season as part of the “Strike Out Hunger” campaign.
