THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Fine Arts Division proudly presents its annually awaited Spring Musical, Bright Star, from April 5 – April 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium. Admission is $5/person and the show is rated PG-13. Bright Star is the story of Alice Murphy at two different points in her life. As a young teen in Zebulon, North Carolina, she is hopelessly in love with small-town heartthrob Jimmy Ray, the mayor’s son. Although their love is pure, it falls victim to the interference of ambitious parents. More than two decades later, Alice is the successful editor of The Asheville Southern Journal, where she meets a promising young writer named Billy. Haunted by their unique connection, Alice sets out to understand her past- and what she finds has the power to change both their lives. With toe-tapping melodies and moving characters, the story unfolds in a beautiful tale of love and redemption. James Andrew was born Nov. 29, 1840, in Crosswick, Warren, Ohio, to William McBride and Elizabeth Harris Ball Booram. The family made their way to Utah, where they made their home in Santaquin for several years.
