READING, Pa. - Reading Mayor Eddie Moran cut the ribbon Wednesday to the new splash pad and all abilities playground at City Park located near North 11th and Walnut streets. "As you can see folks, this is exactly what I mean when I say let's build a better Reading together," he told the crowd.

GoggleWorks, NAACP and Juneteenth Reading, PA Join Forces for The Great Barrington Project
The Great Barrington Project is a cost-free interactive experience in public spaces, where participants are invited to sit in a chair across from a seated Black person and look in their eyes, unlocking a deeper connection. Those who identify as Black will also be invited to offer perspectives on how others perceive them. The project will be carried out in Reading’s City Park on Tuesday, June 13 from 12pm to 5pm and Wednesday, June 14 from 12pm to 5pm. A third and final installment will take place from 9am to 11:30am on Thursday, June 15 at GoggleWorks’ factory-turned-art-center campus at 201 Washington St. The GoggleWorks event will be followed by a reception, including free appetizers and fare from Franklyn’s Breakfast, Burgers & Shakes. One of the most dynamic voices in contemporary Latin American art today, Carlos Luna is featured in a monographic exhibition, Carlos Luna: Beyond the Surface, which will be on view through September 10, 2023 at the Reading Public Museum in Reading, Pennsylvania. Luna creates impactful and memorable works that enlist engaging narratives, graphics, texts, and a visual vocabulary that is uniquely his own. The exhibition, which is on view in The Museum’s first floor galleries, features nearly 30 paintings, works on paper, sculpture, and tapestries that range from the late 1990s through his most recent works.
