An inmate of Arizona State Prison in Tucson died at Banner University Medical Center Main Campus on May 29. Anthony Gamez, 28, was found hanging by a cloth sheet in his cell on May 20. He was transported to the hospital by the Tucson Fire Department and was pronounced dead at the hospital a few days later.

A 26-year-old man was charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree murder, in the death of a man in Phoenix. On May 7, 2023, a stolen Chevy Tahoe entered an apartment complex near Park Avenue. Four occupants exited, three were detained. (13 News) - According to the AZ Department of Public Safety, a trooper assigned to the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Task Force stopped a vehicle for multiple moving violations on Interstate 19 southbound between Tucson and Sahuarita on June 3.
