ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — Roanoke’s Sheriff’s Office is reporting a fake call impersonating a Lieutenant asking people to bring money to the sheriff’s office. According to the sheriff’s office, they have been notified about someone calling claiming they are a Lieutenant with the department and then stating the resident has missed a court date or jury summons. The caller then asks for money to make up for these fabricated missed appointments.
