Woman shot late Wednesday in stable condition
St. Joseph police are investigating an overnight shooting after a woman arrived at Mosaic Life Care with a gunshot wound. The 21-year-old woman initially was in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable, police said.

Man charged with assault following Thursday stabbing
A St. Joseph man has been charged with first-degree assault in connection with a stabbing that occurred Thursday morning at a home on N. Sixth Street. Derek Odom, 41, allegedly stabbed the victim at least five times, leaving wounds to the 35-year-old man's head, neck, torso and upper shoulder, critically injuring him, according to a probable cause statement. Odom left the home on foot following the incident.
