Traffic stop leads to drug arrest with help of K-9
A traffic stop led to the arrest of a 37-year-old Aberdeen man with the help of a Southern Pines Police K-9. “On April 8, 2024 at 9:48 pm, members of the Southern Pines Police Department’s Directed Patrol Unit stopped a vehicle driven by Angelo McLean III on US Highway 1 near Pennsylvania Avenue for an observed violation of North Carolina motor vehicle law,” wrote Southern Pines Police Department in a statement issued to Sandhills Sentinel. “During the officer’s investigation, which included the use of a department K-9, 434 grams of Marijuana, 100 dosage units of Ecstasy and assorted items of Drug Paraphernalia were located.”

Employee accused of stealing from Walmart
A man who worked at Walmart has been accused of stealing from the store, according to a news advisory released by the Aberdeen Police Department. Kobe McDuffie, 24, of Raeford, was arrested and placed at the Moore County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond for charges out of Aberdeen and an additional $10,000 secured bond for outstanding warrants from Lee County.
