Lawrenceville man arrested for killing woman, setting vehicle with body in it on fire
A Lawrenceville man was arrested and charged with felony murder after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend, then setting her car on fire with her body still inside. The Gwinnett County Police Department said in a press release they were requested to conduct a welfare check on Rubi Maldonado Nava, 28, of Lawrenceville Thursday night at Club Lakes Parkway.

Cumming takes steps to put 2 former landfills up for sale
(Forsyth County, GA) Two plots of land containing former landfills in the City of Cumming might soon be available for purchase. Update: Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued / Flood Watch remains in effect for local area
Just after 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, the National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 1 a.m. on Monday, March 27, for the local area. This includes Walton, Gwinnett and surrounding counties.. The risk is marginal. However, residents are urged to stay alert for possible Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. FoCo Sheriff’s Office to crack down on drivers disregarding crosswalks, school zones
