Fallen Lansing Police officer among over 200 fallen officers to be honored during annual candlelight vigil in Washington, D.C.
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - One fallen Lansing Police officer will be honored, along with 281 other fallen officers, during a candlelight vigil in Washington, D.C. According to the Officer Down Memorial Page (ODMP), Officer George A. Brown suffered a fatal heart attack while he was trying to move an intoxicated prisoner at the Lansing Police Department Jail located at Ottawa Street and Capital Avenue in Lansing. As Brown was escorting the prisoner to another cell, ODMP said the prisoner struggled with him. This led Brown to collapse—he was unable to be revived. He died at age 45.
