Valdosta Residents: Important Notice on Hurricane Idalia Damage and Compliance with Local Flood Prevention Ordinance
The local community has suffered considerable damage from Hurricane Idalia. Property owners with damaged buildings may need to comply with Valdosta’s Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. This is particularly important if their property is within the Special Flood Hazard Area. If the city decides that extensive repairs are needed, property owners will get a Substantial Damage Determination Letter. This letter will provide more details. However, there is no need for immediate action.
