Structure Fire in Paintsville
The Paintsville Fire Dept. were called out to the scene of a structure Fire Monday morning. The Fire was located on Madison Avenue in Paintsville at what used to be known as the old Pratt Foods building and most recently the Black Diamond Saloon. Firefighter were toned out around 9:30 AM Monday and once they arrived on scene, smoke could be seen coming from the building. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze and reports indicated the Fire was in one of the rooms inside the building. It took Firefighters around 45 minutes to give the all clear. Members of the Paintsville Fire and EMS, Prestonsburg F.D., WR Castle Fire and Rescue, Paintsville City Police, Constable Tim Branham and others members of area Fire Dept. were on scene for mutual aid. The Paintsville F.D. and Paintsville Police Chief Danny Smith say they are investigating the cause of the Fire. No further information has been made available at this time.

Floyd County Man Arrested for Drug Offenses After Police Find Meth and Heroin in Traffic Stop
A Floyd County man was arrested Wednesday night after police found meth and heroin. Deputies with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office pulled over a vehicle in the Toler Creek Area in Harold Wednesday night. A K-9 unit sniffed around the vehicle during the stop and alerted deputies to the presence of drugs in the vehicle.
