Suspect charged in fatal hit and run involving child
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Police have announced an arrest in the fatal hit and run of a 2-year-old child in Virginia Beach last week. A fatal hit-and-run occurred on March 10, on First Colonial Road, involving a pickup truck and a two-year-old pedestrian. The driver, Raul Santiago, 77, of Virginia Beach, failed to yield and struck the child when making a right turn. Santiago was arrested and charged with Felony Hit and Run with Injury. Tragically, the young victim did not survive. HERTFORD — A Perquimans County woman and a Virginia Beach couple have been charged in connection with the overdose death of a Virginia man whose body was found in Pasquotank County in late January.
