Bloomfield Man Sentenced to 29 Years for Attempted Murder and Carjacking
BLOOMFIELD, NEW JERSEY – A Bloomfield man, Farrakhan Howard, 31, has been sentenced to a total of 29 years in State Prison after being convicted in November for attempting to murder a Lyft driver, assaulting another passenger, and carjacking the vehicle in April 2019. Union County Superior Court Judge Thomas Isenhour imposed the term on Howard, including a 24-year sentence for carjacking, an 18-year concurrent sentence for attempted murder, and a 5-year consecutive sentence for aggravated assault on the passenger. NEW YORK, NEW YORK – A man who pulled a gun during a dispute inside a Chelsea bodega on Thursday was arrested after being subdued by a good Samaritan nearby. Police said Jason Fleming brandished a rifle and a handgun outside London Grocery Smoke Shop on 10th Avenue and West 25th Street shortly after 4 pm. Queens Man Sentenced to Over 10 Years for Laundering Millions in Fraudulent Schemes
QUEENS, NY – On Friday, Djonibek Rahmankulov has been sentenced to 121 months in prison for laundering millions of dollars from various fraudulent schemes, including computer hacking, healthcare fraud, and Small Business Administration loan fraud. Rahmankulov was convicted of money laundering conspiracy, bank fraud, and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business. Between 2017 and September 2020, Rahmankulov operated a network of shell companies to launder criminal proceeds from multiple types of criminal activity. He worked with computer hackers who fraudulently gained control of victims’ bank accounts and executed millions of dollars in fraudulent wire transfers. Newark Police seeking to identify shooting suspects
NEWARK, NEW JERSEY – Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is seeking the public’s help in identifying suspects connected to an incident of criminal mischief that occurred on last month. Today, police released a photo of the suspects. Police were called to the 100 block of Brunswick Street after reports of shots fired. The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a 34-year-old man reported missing from Fordham Manor. Police from the 52nd Precinct said it was reported to them that Alkali Camara of 2682 Valentine Avenue was last seen at his home on Saturday, March 18, at around 11 a.m. He is described as male, is 6 feet tall, weighs 200 pounds, has a dark complexion, brown eyes, and black hair. Camara was last seen wearing a black coat and green pants.
